A Tribute

When we are young there are certain folks we look up to

One or two special ones, that help hus when we're blue.

Having ridden life's range for forty years or so

One special person in my life, I would like for you to know.

The person that I'm speaking of has no great claim to fame

Except to those that know her, and believe that she's a Saint.

She holds her loved ones up in prayer

Even though they don't know it, or may not even care.

Having always put others first, not thinking of herself

She was always there when someone need help.

Through her life she's had a trying time or two

Always looking to the Lord to help her make it through.

The Lord has richly blessed her with things the world cannot see

Most of all He's blessed her with a big family.

The Lord must really love her, this I do know

For He has kept her around this earth for 90 years or so

When her work on earth is done, the Lord will bring her home.

We will greatly miss her, as she's standing at the throne

We'll know she's watching over us

Though we cannot see, she'll be speaking to the Lord

On behalf of her family.

As I ride life's trails with decisions I have made

Whether right or wrong, it's how the game of life is played

I don't know what the Lord has in store for me

I pray I'll be around, so in my 90's I can be

As the sun sets in my life

Lord, please make me this deal....

Help me to be half as good as my

Grandma Frances Pauline O'Neil.
